Paranormal Investigation & Paranormal Stuff
Paranormal Investigation and Ghost Hunting
The word paranormal comes from the words "para" meaning beyond, and normal. So the term paranormal really means something that is beyond the normal scope of science or being beyond a scientific explanation.
I have always been fascinated by anything paranormal. Whether it's ghosts, psychics, mediums or anything else slighty resembling something paranormal, you can bet I'll be trying to learn all I can about it. I have been a member of a paranormal investigative team and it was fascinating. Although we didn't capture any outstanding paranormal evidence, we did encouter some things we couldn't quite explain and got to visit some great places. What Is Paranormal Investigation
The word paranormal comes from the words "para" meaning beyond, and normal. So the term paranormal really means something that is beyond the normal scope of science or being beyond a scientific explanation. According to the Journal of Parapsychology, the term paranormal describes "any phenomenon that in one or more respects exceeds the limits of what is deemed physically possible according to current scientific assumptions."
Parapsychology is the study of the evidence involving phenomena where a person seems to affect or to gain information about something through a means not currently explainable within the framework of mainstream, conventional science. Proponents of the existence of these phenomena usually consider them to be a product of unexplained mental abilities.
Common examples of psychic phenomena are telepathy, extra-sensory perception (ESP), psychokinesis, and after-life things such as reincarnation, ghosts, and hauntings. Also included in the category of paranormal are aspects of UFOs, some creatures that fall under the scope of cryptozoology, the Bermuda Triangle, and many other such subjects.

What Should I Take With Me When I Go Ghost Hunting?
Good question. You don't absolutely have to take anything with you, although having some of the basic tools may make your experience more interesting. Additionally, having a camera or a voice recorder will allow you to capture evidence that you couldn't capture without them. These tools are also useful for documenting your investigation.
If you're investigating at night, as most people do, you will need to have necessary safety items like flashlights to make sure you can find your way around. You can conduct investigations in the daylight also. Hauntings and paranormal experiences don't only happen at night.
Some of the very basic things you should have are a pen and note pad, good obsevation skills, logical mind, and a basic knowledge of how to conduct and document an investigation. Happy hunting!!
Principles of Ghost Hunting & Investigation
The basics of ghost hunting & investigation include going to a place were there may have been sightings of ghosts and/or other occurrences of things that are out of the ordinary. Popular places for investigations are graveyards, churches, schools and older buildings. Places like hospitals, prisons, and mental health facilities are usually full of strange happenings just because of the nature of the places themselves.
Ghost hunters usually record data in a scientific manner, making observation using electronic equipment of various types, such as; EMF Meters, digital thermometers, infrared and night vision cameras, handheld video cameras, digital audio recorders, and computers. Organized teams of ghost hunters are also called paranormal investigation teams.
Investigators will sometimes conduct interviews and analyze evidence to prove/disprove the haunting and to assist the owners and if requested, help the spirits to move on if need be. The investigators can provide the assistance directly or put the owners in contact with experienced groups or individuals that will try to resolve the situation.
